Windows XP/2000 Tips

• Hard Disk Partition
  Run "diskmgmt.msc" to configure a newly installed hard disk which does the same thing as the former "fdisk.exe".

• IP Address
  Run "ipconfig.exe" to know the machine's IP address. Use "ping.exe" to check ethernet connection.

• MAC Address
  Run "ipconfig.exe /all" to know the network card address (MAC Address) for wake-on-LAN applications.

• Remote Machine Control
  Run RealVNC application to control remote machines.

• Version Control
  WinCVS is a handy GUI interface for CVS.

• Secure Connection
  • Install Cygwin openssh and WinCVS can connect the local machine to remote machines. Please refer to this site for installation instructions.
