This is an another species in Tillandsia called Ball moss
(Tillandsia recurvata). Ball moss stays on tree trunks forming
'balls' unlike Spanish moss (Tillandsia usneoides), which hangs
down from tree branches.
Tillandsia is a member of pinapple family (Bromeliaceae). Like
the leaves of pinapple family plants, the basal leaves of
Tillandsia spread out as shown in the photo.
