Under the clear blue sky of California, we set off going through the ever peaceful and quiet country side. The car passed by the walnut orchards where trees line up rows. According to CDFA, almost all (99%) US walnuts are produced in California. Beyond the walnut orchard, there was a packing factory. We could not help just going off the car in sight of turkeys hopping on the ground. There even a place where they keep beautiful goats, with a big dog guarding them.
The road took us after a short ride to a river. The river runs between the green mountains. There was a stream that hindered us from going over to the other side. The road was under construction and except for the sound of the shovel cars, everything was quiet. We decided to have lunch on the river bank.
Then we heard gun shots. We noticed the empty cartridges all over the place. The gun shots kept going (oh so many Dick Cheneys). Then a truck came into our sight. The truck went over the stream. The car was shining under the bright sunshine. The next thing we saw on the spot was a jeep. The jeep went into the stream with a splash of water. The driver waved his hands and we greeted likewise. Now another truck arrived. There came two big blue motor bikes from the platform. The riders came out of the car, changed their outfit, then started running on the dusty road. We finally realized, that we came very far, away from Japan.
