The people in the town of Lakeport feeds the shorebirds and many of them are attracted to sit on the rails and the turf in the park near the lake. The ring-billed gulls with conspicuous black rings on its beaks were in line looking at us and only when I stepped too close they reluctantly and slowly flew away. The American coots were pecking foods on the ground with their white beaks. Their black bodies was shining under the sun. A mallard was among them and its head was deep and metalic green. The finest patterns of their flight feathers create the gradation from white to brown in the way just as the Impressionist did, mixing white with fine spots of colors resulting in the texture with so full of light.
They claim the history of the town of Lakeport goes back in the Gold Rush area and there are the buildings that has the authentic attire of the time they endured. Some of the shops are painted in pastel colors. The cafes have outside eating tables and the town lights up in the evening.
There were not too many elderly people outside. The parks do not seem to like set to host elderly people as in Europe or in Japan. No 'gateball', no 'petanque', no volunteer works. But they have electric carts in Walmart and other supermarkets. According to statistics, the average life expectancy is longer in Japan and in fact, it is the longest in the world.
Go check orders and families of the birds. → Avian Taxonomy Applet
